“What I like about Fort McMurray is that even though you’re kind of far from home, there are so many people from Newfoundland here, that you can feel– it’s not a culture shock for us. I guess Newfoundland is Canadian but we still have this unique identity. . . Fort McMurray has a big role for anybody from Newfoundland. It’s good.  Good for us.  It means there’s [always] going to be jobs here for us.  And hopefully for our kids. That is one thing I really like about being here, that my kids get exposed to all the different cultures.  And of course you’re working with everybody from different cultures and different countries.  It’s just nice to hear all their stories as well.”
